Why Is This a Concern?

Ground cinnamon can be found in almost every household. It is a common ingredient found in everyday cooking and baking, which means families may be exposed to lead without even realizing it. Children and pregnant people are especially vulnerable to the effects of lead exposure. Even small amounts of lead can interfere with brain development, learning, and behavior, creating long-term health consequences into adulthood. Since most children with lead poisoning do not look or act sick, it is important to be aware of and remove potentially contaminated foods from homes.

What Should You Do?

  1. Do not serve this product to your child.
  2. Discard the recalled product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
  3. Call your healthcare provider if you are concerned about potential lead exposure and ask about a blood lead level test.
  4. Questions? Contact the company at 516-426-3782 EST.
