Why Is This a Concern?

This recall is part of an ongoing public health alert for ground cinnamon products found with high levels of lead. Ground cinnamon is a versatile ingredient that can be found in many dishes. If the product is contaminated, families who use it often may be unknowingly exposed to lead over time. Even small amounts of lead exposure can affect a child’s growth and development. It can also be harmful for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as lead can pass to babies during fetal development or breastfeeding.

What Should You Do?

  1. Do not serve this product to your child.
  2. Discard the recalled product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
  3. Call your healthcare provider if you are concerned about potential lead exposure and ask about a blood lead level test.
