Product Recall Announcement: Rebecca’s Toys & Prizes Bowling Pin Sipper Cups

Erika Silao

Last month, Nazzaro Enterprises Texas Inc. recalled about 2,400 bowling pin sipper cups from Rebecca’s Toys & Prizes due to lead poisoning risk. These cups have red tape on the neck that contains lead levels higher than what is safe for children, which can be harmful if chewed or swallowed. Sold at various bowling alleys nationwide, Nazzaro is offering full refunds for cups bought after January 2018. Although no injuries have been reported, consumers should take action quickly to avoid the risk of lead poisoning.

Why Is This a Concern?

The red tape on the cup contains lead levels above the legal limit of 0.06% of lead. Lead exposure is dangerous, especially for children, as it can cause developmental delays, learning problems, and other serious health issues. Chronic lead exposure can lead to kidney problems, high blood pressure, and other health issues in adults.

What Should You Do?

  • Stop using the bowling pin sipper cups immediately.
  • Keep the cup away from your child to avoid any risk.
  • Throw the product away safely to reduce the risk of lead poisoning.
  • Contact Nazzaro for a full refund.

If you or your child has used this product and have concerns, please consult your doctor and ask for a blood lead level test. Don’t strike out on safety– make sure your family is protected today!
